The Electric Canvas opens Melbourne branch

Architectural and large-scale projection specialists, The Electric Canvas, have announced the opening of a new office and workshop in Melbourne.

It’s been a busy winter season for the award-winning projection company, who officially opened their Tullamarine premises this past August. Specialising in architectural mapping, stadium field of play, and other large-scale projection applications, the company now delivers and services projects throughout Victoria directly out of its Melbourne branch.

A complete solution provider, The Electric Canvas brings together a unique combination of creative and technical disciplines to produce transformative, site-specific projection experiences. They offer creative concept development, technical design, content production, equipment provision and on-site delivery – all from under the same roof.

Heading up the Melbourne team is Peter Janusz, in the role of Manager and Technical Director, TEC Melbourne. Originally one of The Electric Canvas’ preferred freelance technicians, Janusz has worked on many projects with the company over the last six years. “I’m excited to be a full-time member of the team and we look forward to continue working with existing clients, as well as plenty of new ones!”

The Melbourne operation features generous warehouse and office space with semi-trailer access, a well-equipped projector maintenance and testing facility and is stocked with a range of high performance media servers and projectors, including a new fleet of 25,000 lumen Christie Crimson laser-phosphor projectors.

The first major projects to be delivered out of TEC Melbourne were White Night Melbourne – Reimagined and White Night Ballarat, in August and September respectively. Other significant Victorian projects that The Electric Canvas has been involved with for several years include the City of Melbourne’s Christmas Festival projections, as well as Sovereign Hill’s annual “Winter Wonderlights” event in Ballarat.
