Audio-Technica has released a new version of its popular ATH-M20x studio recording headphone. The new model ATH-M20x SC (Short Cable) is the result of demand from a range of applications like silent performances, museum listening stations, tour groups and of course portable listening with iPhone/Smartphone.
Whilst a three-meter straight cable is ideal for studio and mastering where freedom of movement in the control room is essential, a short 1.2-meter cable is more appropriate for portable or fixed applications when the listener will always be close to the sound source.
A great recent application example was Opera Australia’s performance on the steps of the Sydney Opera House where a solution to offset noise complaints resulted in each member of the audience being issued with a portable FM radio and a set of Audio-Technica headphones.
With their 40mm drivers and contoured ear-pads these closed back headphones provide accurate audio and outstanding comfort, perfect for long sessions in the studio or on the go. Modern design and high-quality materials combine with single sided cable entry and heavy duty build to deliver a reliable hard-working headphone regardless of application.
