About the business
NW Group includes both Oceania Productions and Spyglass in New Zealand. We provide technical equipment and services to the NZ live entertainment and event industry. We work on many of NZ’s most iconic events and festivals, corporate events, concerts, theatre shows, live sport events and live broadcasts.
We also hold the contract for a number of iconic central Wellington venues and we are now looking for a vibrant and positive Lighting Technician & Operator to join our growing team.
About the role
Prepare equipment, set up events, operate live shows and performances and backdown equipment safely and respectfully.
Work alongside Audio and Video Technicians within our warehouse and onsite at events.
Experience working with intelligent lighting desks, rigging experience, power calculation, basic lighting design, focus and program, troubleshooting onsite if required.

Skills and experience
3-5 years relevant industry experience
Experience in working with clients in professional manner
Technically sound across all disciplines is preferable – Audio + Lighting + Vision + Rigging
Working at heights and EWP certification
Drivers licence – class 1 required – class 2 preferred
Ability to lead a team onsite and communicate effectively with staff and suppliers
Vectorworks / WYSIWYG / Visio experience is desirable but not necessary
Hiretrack equipment rental management experience desired but not necessary
Able to interpret technical event drawings
