Elite’s VuePix screen for Mid Winter Ball

Elite Event Technology provided once again a complete audiovisual production for the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery Mid Winter Ball. The premier social event on the political calendar, held in the Great Hall Parliament House in Canberra, featured a huge VuePix ER4 screen as a centerpiece of the stage and entertainment for the glamorous night.

The VuePix screen configured as 9m wide x 4m tall – was used to play crisp themed visuals for the event, advertise the sponsors, as well as providing a live stream of the performing artists. The content was all ran from PVP on a MacBook Pro with main and tracking backup and a Novastar MCTRL 4k processor was used.

The Mid Winter Ball traditionally brings together journalistic, political and corporate chiefs of Australia. It uniquely includes the senior ranks of all parliamentary parties, with the speeches presented by the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition.

The event usually takes place in winter, however this year’s ball was delayed due to the renovations of the parliament’s Great Hall. Singer Jessica Mauboy and comedian Bob Downe entertained the crowds, who for once put aside their usual political animosity towards each other and let their hair down.

It was a memorable night full of entertainment and networking opportunities with the big winner being charity. Over the years, the Mid Winter Ball has raised over $4mill for a variety of charity organisations, including Rare Cancers Australia, Soldier On, Lifeline Australia, Spinal Cure Australia and The Newborn Intensive Care Foundation just to name a few.
