Vision Basics

This is a three day course which makes up part of the Certificate III.

Introduction to vision production 
The role of vision systems and the vision crew in production.  Equipment recognition.  Care and maintenance of equipment. 

System topology, patching and setup 
General system topology including vision sources, vision mixing/switching and display device.  Appropriate cable types. 

Vision signal types and conversion 
Different types of vision signals and their uses.  Benefits of each type.  Conversion between different vision formats and the equipment used.  Splitting and amplification of vision signals. 

Console operation and Display types 
Patching and operation of a vision mixer.  Display devices including plasma and LCD screens, projectors and projection screens. 

Introduction to camera operation 
How to set up and operate a camera.  Shot types and terminology.  How to work as a camera assistant.  Working with a director 

Set up and operate a vision system 
In this session, you will use the skills you have learnt during the course to set up and operate a complex vision system. 

AT THE END OF THIS COURSE YOU WILL ACHIEVE THE UNIT:

CUEAUD06B : Apply general knowledge of vision systems to work activities.

This Unit can be applied against the Certificate III in Live Production, Theatre and Events (Tech Ops) CUE 30203

AFTERWARDS: Articulate into Advanced Video and Camera Ops, a brand new 5 day course held in School Holidays.
