The EVOLVE 50 from Electro-Voice is engineered from the ground up to set a new, uncompromising performance standard for portable powered column systems, offering superior EV sound quality and feature-rich functionality in a sleek ergonomic design.

EVOLVE 50 is ideal for DJs, mobile entertainers, bands, singer/songwriters, and any venue looking for real PA system performance in a lightweight, low-profile package – big sound that blends into the background. With a maximum SPL (sound pressure level) of 126 dB and a total system weight of just 77 lbs., the streamlined system offers a stunning performance to weight ratio. Along with the highest SPL output and widest coverage in its class, EVOLVE 50 also offers exceptionally warm, articulate vocal reproduction for presentations and spoken-word applications.

Cutting-edge components and tuning provide full-sized sound from the EVOLVE 50’s elegant form factor: a full-range column loudspeaker with eight 3.5-inch neodymium drivers is matched with a 12-inch subwoofer; an efficient Class-D amplifier provides up to 1,000 watts of output power. As is to be expected from EV, accurate, linear response is on tap at the system’s highest output levels. Ultra-wide 120° horizontal coverage and array-formed 40° asymmetrical vertical coverage ensures no energy is wasted, for exceptionally even audience coverage and clarity from front to back, sitting or standing. The array is enclosed in durable ABS plastic; the ported subwoofer is enclosed in wood. Rigorous testing of the custom internal components, amplifier/digital signal processing module, and enclosures and hardware were all undertaken above and beyond industry norms to ensure the system is the most robust column system offered to date, both physically and sonically.

EVOLVE 50 offers true “plug & play” setup and operation across every detail. Assembly is quick via a symmetrical aluminum subwoofer pole with integrated wiring. At each end of the pole the cable-free connection locked into place by an internal magnet: three pieces, two clicks, one system. High-resolution Bluetooth®* audio allows the convenient streaming of background music or musical accompaniment directly from any mobile device, and the new Bluetooth®* QuickSmartMobile app allows the wireless configuration, control, and monitoring of up to six EVOLVE 50 systems simultaneously. The app makes it easy to dial-in settings in real time from in front of the system, ensuring exceptional EV sound quality at all times for every application.

An angled input panel gives users access from above to make adjustments and connections, and includes EV’s best-in-class QuickSmartDSP interface—allowing intuitive navigation of system parameters via a liquid crystal display with signature single-knob control—as well as multiple performance-optimizing presets and options for signal routing and inputs. Setup and transport are facilitated via ergonomically designed handles on both the array and the sub.
